BuCor celebrates 123rd ARAW NG KALAYAAN

With this year’s theme, Diwa sa Pagkakaisa at Paghilom ng Bayan, the Bureau of Corrections- National Headquarters celebrates the 123rd Araw ng Kalayaan. Led by no less than the Director General, USEC GERALD Q BANTAG, this year’s celebration of the Independence Day highlights the modern day heroes, the frontliners including the members of the uniformed service, who are all in the front line battling the pandemic.

The occasion also becomes an instrument to showcase the native Filipino attires and modern Filipiniana proudly worn by Chiefs of Divisions/ Offices and guests as a display of Filipino unity and preservation of national and cultural heritage. They likewise participated in the community dancing of traditional Igorot dance to honor the celebration of the Independence Day.

Also in attendance is the Guest of Honor and Speaker USEC DEO MARCO of the Department of Justice accompanied by ASEC GABRIEL P CHACLAG, Deputy Director General for Administration and Operations. In his message, he calls for unity and solidarity among BuCor personnel and should help one another to carry out the mandates of the Bureau.

On the other hand, DG Bantag emphasizes the importance of singing of the National Anthem. By mere singing the Lupang Hinirang, it points out independence and nationalism. Hence, it helps evoke feelings of patriotism among the country's citizens and reminds us of our nation's glory, beauty, and rich heritage.
