On June 17, 2022, ASEC MILFREDO M MELEGRITO, Deputy Director General for Operations visited the Philippine Military Academy at Fort General Gregorio del Pilar, Baguio City to have a talk with our clientele, the PDL, apart from MOA signing, in which the office of the Directorate for External Relations headed by CCSUPT (ATTY.) JULIE MAY C TAGUIAM together with the DER staff prepared the said program.
The program was also attended by CSUPT REYNALDO T PABLO JR, Superintendent of Minimum-Security Compound, ATTY ROY P LAWAGAN, Chief Legal of BuCor together with BuCor personnel.
The purpose of the program is to monitor and better understand the welfare of our clientele. The PDL were given the opportunity to raise issues and concerns through an open forum, and further discuss the status of their release and other concerns related to the said program.
Indeed, visitation can help maintain positive social bonds through face-to-face interaction to prevent incarcerated individuals from engaging in further criminal behavior upon release.
The Bureau of Corrections through the leadership of USEC GERALD Q BANTAG, Director General assures the public that the Bureau is continually doing its best to help the PDL reform in the best way possible.
