BuCor Holds Simultaneous Oath-Taking Ceremony for Newly Promoted and Appointed Personnel

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) marked a significant milestone in its continuing commitment to professional growth and public service as it held a Simultaneous Oath-Taking Ceremony for newly promoted and newly appointed personnel, on 25 September 2025, in front of the BuCor Administration Building, National Headquarters, Muntinlupa City.
The ceremony was attended by BuCor Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH; ASEC AL I PERRERAS, Deputy Director General for Administration; ASEC GIL T TORRALBA, Deputy Director General for Security and Operations; C/CSUPT CELSO S BRAVO, OIC, Deputy Director General for Reformation, along with other BuCor key officials.
ASEC PERRERAS delivered his welcome remark, underscoring that integrity stands as the cornerstone of effective corrections service. He also stressed that all personnel must uphold respect and compassion in serving the Bureau.
Moreover, the reading of General Orders for the newly promoted Commissioned Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Civilian Personnel, as well as the presentation of newly hired Corrections Officer 1 was led by CT/SSUPT ELSA A ALABADO, Acting Director, Directorate for Personnel and Human Resource Development (DPHRD).
The promotion encompassed various ranks and positions which include one (1) Corrections Chief Inspector (C/CINSP) to Corrections Superintendent (C/SUPT); two (2) Corrections Senior Officer 4 (CSO4) to C/INSP; 45 Corrections Officer 3 (CO3) to CSO1; 21 Corrections Technical Officer 3 (CTO3) to CTSO1; 64 CO2 to CO3; 56 CO1 to CO2; and six (6) Civilian Personnel.
Furthermore, DG CATAPANG administered the oath of the newly hired 134 Corrections Officer 1 and 95 Corrections Technical Officer 1 across all Operating Prisons and Penal Farms (OPPFs) of the Bureau.
In his message, DG CATAPANG congratulated the newly promoted personnel and recruited CO1, urging everyone to further develop and strengthen the Bureau, and to continually enhance its governance towards a greater public service.
The event symbolized a collective commitment to the ideals of a reformed and progressive corrections system. With the newly promoted and appointed officers and personnel ready to embrace greater responsibilities, the BuCor continues to strengthen its role in building a just, secure, and reformative environment for the community and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
