On 08 September 2025, the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) – Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC) joyfully celebrated the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, marking her birth with prayer, reflection, and community-centered activities. The occasion highlighted Mary’s vital role in the Catholic faith, inspiring hope and devotion among participants while strengthening spiritual bonds within the facility.
The celebration was facilitated by the Moral and Spiritual Program of NBP-RDC. It featured a heartfelt “Two Thousand Hail Mary’s” novena, prayerfully recited by Roman Catholic PDLs together with volunteer chapel workers at the Our Lady of Grace chapel. A solemn procession and novena recital were also held in selected dorms, reflecting the PDLs’ deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and offering them comfort, encouragement, and spiritual renewal.
This meaningful event was made possible through the unwavering support of NBP-RDC Camp Commander CCINSP MAURICIO M GRATIS JR., and the steadfast leadership of Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH. The NBP-RDC remains committed to nurturing faith-based and values-driven programs that guide PDLs on their journey of reformation, renewal, and hope.
