BuCor Bolsters Command with Promotion of 9 Officials
In a powerful display of organizational growth and leadership renewal, the Bureau of Corrections reached a milestone on 27 December 2025, as nine (9) officials ascended the career ladder during a high-profile Oath-Taking and Donning of Ranks ceremony held at the New Conference Room, National Headquarters.
The event commenced with an invocation by CT/SINSP FR DOMINIC R. LIBREA followed by welcome remarks from ASEC AL I PERRERAS, Deputy Director General for Administration setting a prestigious tone for the proceedings.
The ceremony reached its peak with the elevation of nine (9) distinguished officials to higher leadership echelons within the Bureau. Seven (7) officials were promoted from the rank of Corrections Superintendent (C/SUPT) to Corrections Senior Superintendent (C/SSUPT): C/SSUPT RAUL P LEVITA, C/SSUPT GARY A GARCIA, C/SSUPT LUCIO C. GUEVARRA, C/SSUPT ROGER O BONCALES, C/SSUPT RUBEN R FORMOSO, C/SSUPT ALFREDO A DEVARAS JR, and C/SSUPT EDUARDO P GOGORZA. Simultaneously, the technical service celebrated a significant advancement as two (2) officials ascended to the rank: CT/SSUPT MARJORIE ANN P SANIDAD, MD, RN, FIAMS, and CT/SSUPT NOEL M MARQUEZ, further strengthening the organization’s specialized command core.
After the reading of the General Order by CT/SSUPT ELSA A ALABADO, Acting Director, Directorate for Personnel and Human Resource Development and the formal donning of new insignias, the officials stood before DIRECTOR GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH, to take their solemn oaths of office.
In a stirring message delivered following an introduction by CT/CSUPT MA CECILIA V VILLANUEVA, Director, Directorate for Health and Welfare Services, DG CATAPANG lauded the promotees for their steadfast commitment to the bureau’s reform agenda. Offering a powerful message of encouragement, the Director General congratulated the newly minted officials and energized the assembly by announcing that the workforce should look forward to further rounds of promotions in the near future.
This significant afternoon, masterfully emceed by CTSO3 Christian D Cruz and concluded with the singing of the BuCor Hymn, signaled a continued era of upward mobility and merit-based advancement for the agency’s dedicated personnel.
