BuCor Honored at National Security Summit 2025 for Key Role in Advancing National Security Policies
TAGUIG CITY — The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) participated in the National Security Summit 2025 held on 12 December 2025 at the Ricarte Hall, Philippine Army Officers Club House, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, underscoring its commitment to strengthening national security through inter-agency collaboration and strategic governance.
During the summit, BuCor was conferred a Plaque of Appreciation in recognition of its valuable partnership and steadfast commitment in the formulation and implementation of the National Security Policy (NSP) 2023–2028 and the National Security Strategy (NSS) 2024. These landmark policy frameworks play a vital role in advancing the country’s national security goals and objectives. The plaque was signed by SECRETARY EDUARDO M. AÑO, National Security Adviser and Director General of the National Security Council (NSC).
The Plaque of Appreciation was received by BuCor Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret), CESE, CCLH, together with MS. JORDINE ROSE R. OCON, CrFA, MPS, Chief of the Strategic Communications Office (SCO).
In the keynote address delivered by Honorable Executive Secretary RALPH G. RECTO, the importance of unified action across government institutions was underscored, highlighting that national security is ultimately about ensuring that every Filipino feels safe at home, in the streets, and in every corner of the archipelago. He emphasized the importance of strategic synergy through a government that moves as one and is supported by a strong economy. ES RECTO called on all stakeholders to renew their commitment not only to protecting the State but also to safeguarding the hopes and dreams of every Filipino, which remains essential in building a secure, resilient, and progressive Bagong Pilipinas.
The BuCor remains aligned with the national vision of a secure and resilient Bagong Pilipinas, continuing to uphold its mandate as a key pillar of the country’s justice and security sector while contributing meaningfully to the realization of the NSP and NSS.
