Alice Guo Begins Life Behind Bars at Correctional Institution for Women
Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Leal Guo also known as “Guo Hua Ping,” along with two (2) female co-accused, was officially received at the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) Mandaluyong on Friday night, 05 December 2025. The (3) three women, all convicted of qualified human trafficking and sentenced to life imprisonment, were transferred from the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory to the national penitentiary.
Guo, Rachelle Joan Malonzo Carreon, and Jaimielyn Santos Cruz were formally turned over to CIW personnel at 10:48 PM. The transfer initiates the mandatory institutional procedures for their commitment to the prison system.
The high-security admission process was conducted under the direct supervision of CIW Superintendent, CTSUPT MARJORIE ANN P SANIDAD, MD, RN, FIAMS.
Immediately upon their arrival, Guo, Carreon, and Cruz were escorted to the Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC), which serves as the mandatory initial processing unit for all newly committed national Persons Deprived of Liberty (PsDL).
This quarantine period is the start of a comprehensive 60-day RDC assessment period. Upon completion, they will proceed to an extended period of diagnostic testing, including psychological, sociological, and vocational evaluations. The results of this process will be used to classify their security status, with their permanent assignments expected to be within the CIW’s Maximum Security Camp due to their life sentences.
With the iron gates of the CIW sealing behind them, the spectacle surrounding Alice Guo and her co-accused has ended, but their sentence has just begun. The move from jail to the national penitentiary signals a finality, a life of freedom is over, replaced by a life defined by the measured routine and unyielding authority under the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
