Bucor Exhibits PsDL Products at the Senate Building and Gives Portraits to Senators
On 15 December 2025, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) displayed artwork and handicraft products made by Persons Deprived of Liberty (PsDL) at Senate Building, Pasay City. Products from the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) includes colorful bags made up of beads and recycled plastic, keychains, wallets, coin purse, and assorted delicious pastries. Products from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) are composed of different handicrafts and artworks, such as colorful bonsai made up of recycled plastic containers, baskets made out of rattan, and the highlights of the exhibit are different carefully crafted and vibrant paintings. The exhibit was crowded with known individuals including the daughter of Senator Sotto, Lala Sotto, Director III on Muslim Affairs Office of Senator Robinhood Padilla, Samira Gutoc, and other government officials and private individuals.
As a gesture of gratitude on patronizing the works of PsDL, the BuCor, represented by the Chief of Work and Livelihood Division, C/CINSP EUSEBIO B DEL ROSARIO JR. and Chief of Strategic Communications Office, MS. JORDINE ROSE R OCON, CrFA, MPS, turned over portraits to SENATE PRESIDENT VICENTE “TITO” SOTTO III, SENATOR PANFILO “PING” LACSON, and SENATOR ROBINHOOD “ROBIN” PADILLA.
This activity aims to showcase the talents of the PsDL and promote their products to the public. Work and Livelihood Program is one of the reformation programs of the BuCor that prepares the PsDL to be reintegrated in the community. Through this, BuCor could ensure a reformed individual prior to release in the society.
