BuCor Welcomes Courtesy Visit from PPA–NCR

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) welcomed delegates from the Parole and Probation Administration – National Capital Region (PPA–NCR) during a courtesy visit held on 27 January 2026 at the Visitors Lounge, National Headquarters (NHQ) in Muntinlupa City.
The delegation was led by DIRECTOR JANETTE S. PADUA, CESO V, Regional Director of PPA–NCR, together with thirty-five (35) NCR Field Chiefs. They paid a courtesy call to BuCor Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH.
Also present during the meeting were ASEC AL I PERRERAS, Deputy Director General for Administration (DDGA); CT/SSUPT NOEL M MARQUEZ, DVM, DPA, Director of the Directorate for External Relations and Reintegration Services (DERRS); and other BuCor Officials and staff.
The discussions focused on shared concerns, particularly the parole and reintegration programs, with both agencies exchanging insights to improve coordination. DIRECTOR PADUA also expressed her willingness to conduct capacity-building seminars and orientations on modes of release for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PsDL), aimed at enhancing understanding of legal processes, release procedures, and available support services to better prepare PsDL for reintegration into society.
The visit likewise allowed the delegation to tour at the BuCor facilities and learn about its ongoing livelihood programs for PsDL. The delegation expressed appreciation for the productive discussions and the warm hospitality extended by BuCor. Overall, the visit strengthened cooperation between BuCor and PPA–NCR and reinforced their shared commitment to effective parole administration and reintegration efforts.
DG CATAPANG and ASEC PERRERAS expressed their support for the proposed initiatives and reaffirmed BuCor’s commitment to continued collaboration.
