Congressman Brian Poe Llamanzares and DOJ Usec Gutierrez Turn Over Tablets for PDL and BuCor Personnel

Sixteen tablet devices with keyboards were donated for the use of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and personnel of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) through a joint initiative of CONGRESSMAN BRIAN DANIEL POE LLAMANZARES and Department of Justice (DOJ) UNDERSECRETARY MARGARITA GUTIERREZ.
The donated devices were formally turned over and received by BuCor Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.) CESE, CCLH.
The tablets are intended to support both PDL and BuCor personnel in various administrative and program-related activities within correctional facilities. The provision of digital devices is expected to assist in enhancing operational efficiency, facilitating communication, and supporting educational and reformation initiatives for PDL.
CONGRESSMAN POE LLAMANZARES and UNDERSECRETARY GUTIERREZ jointly led the donation effort as part of continued support for initiatives that aim to improve resources available within the correctional system. The initiative reflects ongoing cooperation between public officials and the justice sector in strengthening programs that contribute to reformation and institutional development.
DG CATAPANG expressed appreciation for the donation, noting that such contributions provide valuable support to BuCor’s programs for both personnel and PDL. The devices will help expand access to digital tools that can assist in learning, communication, and other institutional functions.
The Bureau continues to work with government partners and stakeholders to enhance correctional services and support programs that promote reformation and professional development within its facilities.
