On 02 March 2026, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) officially commenced the observance of National Women’s Month during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, held at the National Headquarters (NHQ) in Muntinlupa City.
With the sub-theme, “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas,” this month-long celebration aims to highlight the distinctive leadership qualities of women, gender equality, women empowerment, as well as equal opportunities and access to resources.
As part of the celebration, female personnel of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) led the traditional Flag Raising Ceremony. Also, NBP personnel represented by C/CINSP MARLON E MANGUBAT, Deputy Superintendent for Security and Operations of NBP and Camp Commander of the Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC) and C/INSP CASSIUS S AVELINA, Chief Overseer, NBP-MaxSeCamp, distributed sweet snacks to female personnel of the Bureau to show appreciation for their unwavering commitment and correctional service in the agency.
The celebration reinforces BuCors commitment to creating a safe and inclusive working environment. By supporting equal opportunities, professional growth, and holistic well-being, the Bureau strengthens its workforce and upholds the principles of fairness and dignity.
