The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), led by Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH, and the Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport (ZAMBOECOZONE), headed by MR. RAUL REGONDOLA, DBA, Ph.T.D, Chairman and Administrator, formally sealed partnership through the Ceremonial Signing of the Deed of Donation for a Duplex-Type Field Office Building on 18 June 2026 at the New Conference Room, National Headquarters, Muntinlupa City.
The signing ceremony marked the official donation and transfer of ownership of a newly constructed field office building located in Curuan, Zamboanga City, from ZAMBOECOZONE to BuCor. The facility was built on a parcel of land owned by BuCor and designated as the relocation site of the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 112.
Under the Deed of Donation, ZAMBOECOZONE voluntarily donated, transferred, and conveyed to BuCor the ownership of the Duplex-Type Field Office Building with a total floor area of 151.11 square meters, consisting of two units measuring 75.56 square meters each. The donated structure carries a book value of Php 8,177,277.47 at the time of donation. The agreement also provides that ownership, administration, possession, control, and responsibility over the facility shall be vested in BuCor upon execution of the deed.
The ceremony was witnessed by ASEC AL I PERRERAS, BuCor Deputy Director General for Administration; Mr. Reynold B. Pareja, ZAMBOECOZONE Deputy Administrator; and Mr. Rey Bayugin, Zamboanga City Councilor, underscoring the significance of the collaboration between the BuCor and ZAMBOECOZONE in advancing correctional infrastructure and public service.
The donated facility is expected to strengthen the operational capability of the Bureau in the Zamboanga region and support the continuing development of correctional facilities and services. The initiative also reflects the commitment of BuCor and ZAMBOECOZONE to promote efficient government operations through strategic partnerships and institutional cooperation.
The ceremonial signing further demonstrates the ongoing efforts of the BuCor under the leadership of DG CATAPANG, to ensure the effective delivery of services in support of its mandate of safekeeping and reformation of Persons Deprived of Liberty.
