BuCor Holds Thanksgiving Mass for Director General’s Birthday, Blesses Newly Acquired Ambulance

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) held a Thanksgiving Mass at its National Headquarters in celebration of the birthday of the Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.) CESE, CCLH, and in gratitude for the continued blessings, accomplishments, and institutional progress experienced by the Bureau under his leadership.
BuCor officials, personnel, and guests gathered in prayer to give thanks for the life, leadership, and dedicated public service of the Director General. The religious activity also provided an opportunity for the BuCor community to express its gratitude for the guidance, protection, and opportunities that the Bureau has received as it continues to advance its reformation programs and fulfill its mandate.
The Mass highlighted the importance of faith, unity, and shared responsibility in public service. It also served as a solemn occasion to pray for continued wisdom, strength, and good health for the Director General as he leads the Bureau in pursuing meaningful reforms, strengthening institutional systems, and improving the welfare of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and BuCor personnel.
The celebration was likewise conducted as an expression of thanksgiving for the numerous blessings received by the Bureau under the leadership of DG CATAPANG. These include the continuous improvement of BuCor’s facilities, operational capabilities, healthcare services, reformation programs, and personnel support systems.
Following the Thanksgiving Mass, a newly acquired ambulance was formally blessed at the National Headquarters. The vehicle represents an important addition to BuCor’s emergency response and healthcare resources and will support the timely transport of patients requiring immediate medical attention.
The activity concluded with renewed gratitude for the Bureau’s accomplishments and a collective commitment among officials and personnel to continue supporting its programs and reform initiatives.
Through the Thanksgiving Mass and the blessing of the newly acquired ambulance, BuCor reaffirmed its dedication to faith-guided leadership, responsive public service, institutional development, and the protection and welfare of PDL and its personnel.
