Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), led by the Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH, welcomed officials of the Pagtutulungan sa Kinabukasan: Ikaw, Bangko, Industriya at Gobyerno (Pag-IBIG) Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) headed by HON. MARILENE C. ACOSTA, Chief Executive Officer, during an official visit on 14 July 2026 at the New Conference Room, BuCor National Headquarters, Muntinlupa City.
The visit commenced with a tour of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) Reservation, where the Pag-IBIG Fund delegation was given an overview of the facilities of the Bureau, ongoing developments, and master plan initiatives.
Following the tour was the audio-visual (AVP) presentation of the BuCor-Wide Master Plan Development, which outlines the Bureau’s long-term vision for institutional development, modernization, and improved employee welfare.
In her message, HON. ACOSTA underscored the growing partnership between Pag-IBIG Fund and the BuCor, emphasizing that both institutions now share a common vision of improving the welfare of BuCor personnel through sustainable housing initiatives. She expressed Pag-IBIG Fund’s readiness to support the Bureau by providing financing opportunities for future housing projects, reaffirming the commitment of the agency to investing in programs that will benefit corrections officers and their families.
In response, DG CATAPANG conveyed his sincere appreciation to Pag-IBIG Fund for recognizing the potential for growth and development of the Bureau. He thanked the agency for its confidence in BuCor and its willingness to invest in initiatives that will improve the welfare of its personnel. DG CATAPANG also expressed optimism that the discussions would soon culminate in the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), paving the way for the realization of housing projects and other collaborative programs that will provide lasting benefits to the workforce of the Bureau.
The visit builds upon the discussions held between BuCor and Pag-IBIG Fund officials on 13 July 2026, where both agencies explored potential areas of collaboration under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (Expanded 4PH).
The strengthened partnership reflects a shared vision of building resilient communities by ensuring that those who serve in the corrections system are provided with meaningful opportunities for homeownership, security, and a better quality of life.
