Iwahig, Puerto Princesa – The Internal Local Quality Audit of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) conducted an assessment on the compliance with policies, laws, and standards at the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) on 7-11 April 2025. It aimed to ensure that the systems are effectively implemented and aligned with the BuCor’s requirements.
The audit covered admission and release of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), security and safekeeping, and reformation programs including education, health, livelihood, recreation, and spiritual development. It also reviewed top management’s responsibilities and support services like finance, logistics, administration, communication, ARTA compliance, and training.
Key operational areas such as the Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC), release procedures, and security units were examined for effectiveness and proper documentation. The audit findings will guide improvements and reinforce quality and risk management practices across the facility.
