Kick-off ceremony of BuCor’s 118th Anniversary
The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), led by Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P. CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, celebrates another milestone as it conducts a kick-off ceremony for the 118th Anniversary celebration of BuCor with the theme: “Bagong BuCor sa Bagong Pilipinas”.
A concelebrated Mass was held in front of the Administration building, followed by the graduation rites of Corrections Officer Custodial Basic Course (COCBC) Class 21 – 2022 “SALIG-TALA”, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the BuCor Bazaar.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of USEC DEO L. MARCO as the Guest of Honor on behalf of SECRETARY JESUS CRISPIN C. REMULLA together with ASEC FRANCIS JOHN L. TEJANO of the Department of Justice (DOJ). Also present were GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), BuCor Director General, ASEC AL I PERRERAS, AFP (Ret.), Deputy Director General for Administration (DDGA) ASEC GIL T TORRALBA, Deputy Director General for Operations (DDGO), C/CSUPT CELSO S BRAVO, OIC-Deputy Director General for Reformation, and distinguished Key Officials and personnel of the Bureau..
In his speech, USEC Marco emphasized the importance of BuCor’s theme for this annual founding anniversary. He highlighted that this year’s celebration aligns with the plans of Hon. JESUS CRISPIN “Boying” REMULLA, the Secretary of Justice, which focus on the reformation of the Bureau. Additionally, he reminded the newly graduates to serve as role models and to support the Bureau in its endeavors.
As the kick-off ceremony concluded, highlighted was the ribbon cutting and opening of BuCor Bazaar. These small booths were staffed and managed by various directorates and offices of the National Headquarters, presenting a variety of products crafted by the PDL, while other products were initiatives of employees.
