On September 20, 2024, The Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) joined the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Regional Office 8 (BJMP-RO8) in the celebration of its 33rd Anniversary with the theme: “Makatao at Maka-Diyos na Serbisyong Publiko, Tungo sa Maunlad, Maayos at Progresibong Pagbabago” held at the Tacloban People’s Center and Library, Real Street Tacloban City, Leyte.
JDIR RUEL S RIVERA, DSC, Chief BJMP, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, an alumnus of the PNPA Patnubay Class of 1995, cited his contribution to the jail service and in maintaining the highest standard of professionalism and integrity in the service. He also shared some inspiring stories of former Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at Tacloban City Jail who have undergone a reintegration program and are now successful individuals outside the community. “I implore you to continue taking the lead in ensuring the best service to our clientele, especially to the PDLs under our care,” JDIR RIVERA said.
Further, the event highlighted the Awarding of BJMP’s Best for CY 2024. It was a night for the BJMP personnel, partners, and stakeholders to bond and celebrate its milestone as they celebrate their 33rd Anniversary in the spirit of camaraderie, pride, and culture.
C/CINSP JOSEMARI D ALAMBRO, LRP Acting Superintendent, presented a token of appreciation to JDIR RIVERA for the earnest partnership with the Bureau of Corrections.
