College behind bars

Look | Honorable Associate Justice Karl B. Miranda and Ramon S. Ang, President and CEO of San Miguel Corporation, along with distinguished guests visited the College of Business Administration and Accountancy of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) located at the New Bilibid Prison – Medium Security Camp (NBP – MedSeCamp) today, February 02, 2024.
The College offers three programs: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majors in Marketing Management and Human Resource Management, and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship.
Among these programs, the Bilibid Extension School (BES) offers the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship alongside the Senior High School and Computer Hardware Servicing programs. The BES is an innovative and comprehensive reformation program for the deserving medium security risk Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), through education and livelihood skills development by the UPHSD inside the NBP – MedSeCamp in partnership with the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
In his message, Mr. Ang pledged to donate a total amount of 150 million pesos for food supplies, sports equipment, and school supplies for the PDL. He assured the PDL that once they have completed their studies, he will provide employment opportunities.
The BuCor, under the leadership of BuCor Director General GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.) CESE, CCLH, will continue to establish partnerships with other government organizations and private sectors to support its programs towards the attainment of its mandate in instituting reformation programs for its clientele.
