HPV testing among female BuCor personnel

The Directorate for Health and Welfare Services (DHWS), in collaboration with the City Health Office (CHO) of Muntinlupa City, conducted Human Papillomavirus (HPV) tests among 30 female personnel from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) and National Headquarters of the bureau on February 20, 2024.
The said activity was made possible through the efforts of the CHO Muntinlupa team led by Dr. Angelica E. Arciaga, with support from the Administrative Staff of DHWS supervised by CTSSUPT MA CECILIA V VILLANUEVA, MD CPRO, Acting Director of the Directorate for Health and Welfare Services.
The HPV test looks for cervical infection by high-risk types of HPV that are more likely to cause pre-cancers and cancers of the cervix. According to the Department of Health (DOH), cervical cancer ranks second in cancers among women in the Philippines and the second most common cancer in women between the ages of 15 and 44.
