The Bureau of Corrections – Health Services Division (HSD) led by CT/SSUPT MA CECELIA V VILLANUEVA MD CPRO conducted a dental mission to the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) at the same time to monitor its health services at the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) last March 22 to 24, 2023.
The HSD team were assisted by LRP Medical Staff I which, 51 PDL benefitted from the dental services while 9 PDL underwent psychiatric evaluation.
It is important to note that the bureau’s client, even deprived of liberty are not deprived from receiving basic and essential medical and dental provisions. Thus, C/SUPT ALFREDO A DEVARAS JR, Superintendent expresses his gratitude to BuCor Director General, USEC GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP, (Ret.), CESE, for prioritizing these programs which the PDL needed while they are being safekeep and undergoing reformation.
