DOJ USEC MARCO and BPP visits IPPF

Iwahig, Puerto Princesa – USEC DEO L. MARCO of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and a team from the Board of Pardons and Parole (BPP) headed by Acting Executive Director Arniel N. Bondoc visited Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) on May 13, 2023, to conduct interview among Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).
 
During their visit, USEC MARCO conducted an ocular inspection of the said penal colony, particularly at the construction of the 300-million facility at Central Sub-Colony (CSC), he was also able to check on the highlights of IPPF such as the souvenir shop and the Balsahan freshwater pool inside the reservation. In addition, he had an opportunity to converse with some PDL where he assures each of them that he will be personally checking on the status of their cases and releases at the DOJ.
 
The team of BPP conducted a pre-parole and executive clemency interview among PDL at IPPF. The is part of the process of evaluating qualified PDL for the possible grant of parole or any form of executive clemency as this serves to facilitate early release for deserving PDL.
