444 CIW PDL enrolled in VOCTECH celebrates Graduation Ceremony

The Correctional Institution for Women’s Vocational and Technical School (CIW VOCTECH) marked a momentous milestone as it celebrate its 13th commencement exercises for the School Year 2022-2023. The event was the culmination of the hard work and dedication of four hundred forty-four (444) Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) students from the Maximum and Medium Security Camps held at the new RDC building gymnasium on July 31, 2023.

The commencement of the graduation ceremony was marked by the inclusion of ceremonial elements, including the entrance of colors, a prayer, and the rendition of the Philippine National Anthem. These components were aligned with the overarching theme of “Matatag na Repormasyon tungosa Magandang Kinabukasan” (Resilient Reformation towards a Bright Future). The graduation ceremony featured a group of graduates who had pursued a wide range of vocational courses, including baking, beauty care, card making, crochet, dressmaking, guitar lessons, Japanese Language, jewelry making, and weaving. These individuals demonstrated both their technical abilities and their unwavering commitment to their chosen professions.
 
C/SSUPT DAISY SEVILLA-CASTILLOTE, CIW Acting Superintendent, took center stage to inspire and present the graduates. She passionately advocates for the development of vocational skills among PDL to equip them for successful reintegration into society. Said graduates were confirmed by Mr. Leonard E. Pinlac, District Director of TESDA PAMAMARISAN.
 
The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of outstanding students from various courses, who were presented with certificates and medals. Notably, senior students who persevered in their studies received certificates of perseverance, symbolizing their dedication and resilience.
CIW VOCTECH’s commitment to empowering PDL through vocational education continues to have a positive impact. By providing them with essential skills, the institution strives to pave the way for a better future and foster self-sufficiency among its students. The 13th commencement exercises not onlysymbolized the successful completion of courses but also stood as a testament to the potential for positive transformation within the correctional system.
 
As the graduates step into the next chapter of their lives, CIW VOCTECH’s unwavering dedication to their reformation and reintegration serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration, illuminating the path to a brighter tomorrow.
