In observance of Ash Wednesday, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) conducted a solemn Holy Mass at the Our Lady of Rosary Grotto, located at the Administrative Building façade of the National Headquarters in Muntinlupa City today, 05 March 2025. The mass, a significant liturgical event marking the beginning of the Lenten season, was officiated by Bishop Buenaventura Famadico, alongside CSO4 (Fr.) Dominic R Librea and Fr. Jess Los Bañez.
The event was graced by the presence of BuCor Director General GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH; CT/CSUPT MARIA CECILIA VILLANUEVA, OIC- Deputy Director General for Reformation, and Director, Directorate for Health and Welfare Service; and C/CSUPT CELSO S BRAVO. Other BuCor key officials and personnel, trainees, and interns likewise participated in the Eucharistic celebration, reflecting on the significance of repentance and renewal during the Lenten season.
Ash Wednesday serves as a reminder of human mortality and the call to spiritual renewal, urging the faithful to turn away from sin and embrace a life of faith and compassion. The Bureau continues to uphold the spiritual well-being of its personnel, fostering an environment that values faith, discipline, and moral integrity.
