PDPD through SPPF-PDPS conducts Information Drive for PDLs

The Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) successfully conducted a two-day information drive for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Central Prison Compound (CPC) and Siburan Sub-Prison Camp (SSPC) on 28-29 April 2025, respectively.

This initiative was made possible through the support of C/SINSP ABEL DR CIRUELA, MSCA, Acting Superintendent of SPPF, and the efforts of C/CINSP FEREDERICK CHARLES Y LIM, Chief of PDL Document Processing Division (PDPD); CTSO1 Rex L Celestino, Acting Chief of PDL Document Processing Section (PDPS) along with his staff, Management, Screening and Evaluation Committee (MSEC) Secretariat; C/SINSP NELROSE C BELARMINO, Chief of Overseer; C/CINSP FRANCISCO A MADRID, Camp Commander of CPC; and C/INSP BOBBY L DIMACULANGAN, Camp Commander of SSPC.

The activity aimed to provide PDLs with essential information concerning their prison records, legal status, and eligibility for release. By helping PDLs better understand their rights and the processes involved in their rehabilitation and potential reintegration, the initiative supports transparency and empowerment within the Bureau of Corrections.

A total of 295 PDLs actively participated in the said activity – 167 from the CPC on April 28 and 128 from the SSPC on April 29.

The successful implementation of the information drive demonstrates SPPF’s continuous dedication to the well-being, education, and rehabilitation of PDL. Initiatives such as this not only promote a more informed prison community but also contribute significantly to a more rehabilitative penal environment.
