48 BuCor Officers Complete Advance Custodial Training
Forty-eight members of the Custodial Officer Advance Course (COAC) Class 2025–01 “LAKSAR” consisting of Corrections Chief Inspectors, Senior Inspectors, and Inspectors of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) formally concluded the COAC in a graduation ceremony held on 19 June 2025 at the Corrections National Training Institute (CNTI) in Muntinlupa City.
The class was officially presented by CS03 Quirico A Aligaga, Deputy Commandant of the Applied Training Division, and confirmed by CSUPT LUCIO C GUEVARRA, Acting Director of CNTI.
BuCor DIRECTOR GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH led the awarding of certificates of completion and recognition, assisted by ASEC AL I PERRERAS, Deputy Director General for Administration; CTCSUPT MA CECILIA V VILLANUEVA, MD, CPro, Director for Health and Welfare Services; and CSUPT GUEVARRA. CTSSUPT ELSA A ALABADO, Acting Director, Directorate for Personnel and Human Resource Development, presented the Order of the Graduates.
Among the graduates, three outstanding officers emerged as the top achievers, in the following order: CSINSP FRANCIS JADE PAJUNAR, CSINSP JOCELYN A RODRIGUEZ, and CSINSP ALLAN A ROSALES.
Meanwhile, CCINSP ROBERTO H BUTAWAN received the Leadership Award; CSINSP RODELIO A SAN ANTONIO and CSINSP JOCELYN A RODRIGUEZ bagged the Marksmanship Awards for the male and female categories, respectively; CSINSP ARGIE H ADEL (male) and CSINSP CYNTHROSE F CASANOBA (female) were awarded the Bernardo Carpio Awards.
The 48 graduates came from across BuCor’s Operating Prisons and Penal Farms: 27 from the New Bilibid Prison/National Headquarters (NBP/NHQ); five each from Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) and Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF); three each from the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW), Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF), and San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF); and two from Leyte Regional Prison (LRP).
The COAC is a training initiative under BuCor’s continuing professional education program. It is designed to enhance the operational leadership, discipline, and managerial capabilities of its middle-ranking custodial personnel as they take on greater responsibilities in the country’s correctional system.
