On November 9, 2023, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), recently celebrated its 118th Founding Anniversary with a grand event filled with awards, recognition, and socials. The celebration, which marked the fourth day of festivities, was a momentous occasion that highlighted the achievements and partnerships of the bureau.
Present during the celebration were Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE; ASEC AL I PERRERAS, AFP (Ret.), Deputy Director General for Administration (DDGA); and ASEC GIL T TORRALBA, Deputy Director General for Administration (DDGA); C/CSUPT CELSO S BRAVO, OIC-Deputy Director General for Reformation, and distinguished Key Officials, Commissioned and Non-Commissioned Officers, staffs and guests.
One of the significant highlights of the BuCor Founding Anniversary was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between BuCor and the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR). This partnership aims to strengthen the ties between the two institutions and promote collaboration in the field of Criminology.
Key officials from BuCor and PCCR President Ma Angelica Lei G Bautista attended the signing ceremony. It was a moment of great importance, as both parties committed to working together.
As an integral component of the program, the agency seized the occasion to pay tribute and show gratitude for the Muntinlupa City Mayor, Rozzano Rufino B. Biazon, the Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation Inc., the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, and Tagum Development Company, Incorporated (TADECO), who have consistently displayed unwavering dedication and support. These awardees serve as an immense inspiration to the Bureau of Corrections (BUCor). Their remarkable commitment and support have undoubtedly propelled the agency forward, demonstrating their reliability and impact within the community.
As part of the program, BuCor displayed its commendable gesture of appreciation and recognition by honoring the retirees who have devoted a substantial chunk of their lives to the bureau. These individuals have played an indispensable role and have exemplified unwavering commitment throughout their careers.
