On July 12, 2023, the In-Change of the Emergency Room (ER) of New Bilibid Prison Hospital, CT/SINSP KRISTOFFER F SOLIS, MD, FPCP, MMHoA, Medical Officer, and CT03 Candy Gonzales, RN, have initiated and facilitated the conduct of Basic Life Support (BLS) education / training where it was attended by the first batch of Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL), along with CT/SO1 Jocelyn B Aro, RN, Asst. Chief Nurse, NBPH, as well as other nurses and nurse supervisors.
The said activity intended to educate / train PDL attendants to provide them with the knowledge and skills on how to give prompt and appropriate first aid that can save the life of their fellow PDL.
Since, this is the launching of a series of BLS education / training, CTO3 Gonzales, has prepared a program. It commenced with a prayer, that was led by CO1 John Andrew Guingon, RN, followed by welcome remarks by the Chief Nurse of NBPH, CT/SO4 Hasmin P Sescar, RN, MAN. Then, a short message by CT/INSP EDDIE C VILLANUEVA, DMD , Chief of the Dental Section and Deputy Chief for Security and Operations, NBPH, and the lecture proper of DR. SOLIS, including demonstration and return demonstration.
CT/SSPUPT MA CECILIA V VILLANUEVA, MD , CPRO, Chief of NBP Hospital, always ensures the proper management and administration of the hospital and shall support all appropriate programs and activities that would benefit PDL as well as the health personnel under her AOR.
