BPP conducts an Information Drive at Iwahig Prison

The Board of Pardons and Parole (BPP) held an Information Drive for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm from 15-17 January 2025.

The primary objective of the initiative was to educate the PDLs about their rights and opportunities within the parole system. The sessions provided in-depth information about the parole application process, eligibility criteria, and procedures, as well as various rehabilitation programs that can improve their chances for parole.

Undersecretary (USEC) SERGIO R. CALIZO JR., BPP Chairperson, led the discussions on the essential conditions required for PDLs to qualify for parole. The activity also aimed to guide PDLs through the steps they must take toward potential early release. By outlining the necessary criteria for parole, the BPP seeks to promote positive behavior and rehabilitation, facilitating smoother reintegration into society.

BuCor Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH, through IPPF Superintendent C/SUPT GARY A GARCIA, RCrim, MSCA, reiterated his commitment to addressing and continually responding to the concerns of PDLs.
