BuCor Commemorates 126th Philippine Independence Day with Flag Raising Ceremony and Personnel Promotions

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) marked the 126th Philippine Independence Day as they joined the Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony and honored 112 deserving personnel with promotions to higher ranks. The event, held today on June 12, 2024, in front of the Administrative Building of the National Headquarters in Muntinlupa City, was a symbolic gesture of unity and dedication to the theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan”.
In attendance were BuCor Director General GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.) CESE, CCLH, ASEC GIL T TORRALBA, Deputy Director General for Security and Operations (DDGSO), C/CSUPT CELSO S BRAVO, OIC-Deputy Director General for Reformation, BuCor officials, personnel, and distinguished guests, all gathered to pay tribute to the country’s rich history and the noble pursuit of freedom.
As part of the celebration, 112 BuCor personnel were recognized for their unwavering commitment and exceptional service to the bureau. Through their dedication and hard work, they have demonstrated their readiness to take on higher responsibilities and contribute further to the mission of BuCor in upholding justice and order within the corrections system.
Among the 112 promoted personnel, seven (7) Commissioned Officers were promoted to higher ranks, namely: C/CSUPT MELENCIO S FAUSTINO, C/SUPT VIC DOMINGO F SUYAT, CT/SUPT JOEY A BELVIS, CT/CINSP RAQUEL P MANABAT-MANALASTAS, C/CINSP NEIL DIONISIO A BUOT, C/CINSP FREDERICK LIM, and C/CINSP DIOMEDES DADOR JR. As they ascend to higher positions, these individuals carry with them the values of service, honor, and duty, embodying the true essence of public service.
In his address, DG CATAPANG JR emphasized the significance of the occasion, highlighting the enduring importance of independence, progress, and history in shaping the nation’s future. As the nation celebrates its 126th year of independence, BuCor remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the Filipino people.
