BuCor-HRD Successfully Completes PRIME HRM Virtual Assessment

The Bureau of Corrections-Human Resource Division (BuCor-HRD) concluded a three-day virtual assessment conducted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) as part of the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME HRM). The assessment took place from September 4 to 6, 2024, at the BuCor National Headquarters’ New Conference Room.
The assessment was headed by Director II HANS ALCANTARA along with CSC Field Officers from the Office of the President, Bureau of Fire Protection, Makati City CSC Office, and Bureau of Internal Revenue. The CSC is dedicated to enhancing the standard of human resource management in the public sector. The event is pursued through the comprehensive assessment of crucial HRD areas such as Recruitment, Selection, and Placement (RSP), Learning and Development (L&D), Performance Management (PM), Rewards and Recognition (R&R), and Records Management.
Under the leadership of DIRECTOR GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret), CESE, CCLH, the Bureau successfully underwent a series of assessments, including a rigorous pre-assessment phase, formal assessment, and panel interviews conducted by the CSC committee.
BuCor met all the requirements to attain Maturity Level II under the CSC PRIME HRM framework. DG CATAPANG expressed his gratitude to the CSC for its valuable recommendations and encouragement to improve the Bureau. He also praised the dedication of the Bureau’s committee, acknowledging their hard work and commitment.
The successful completion of the assessment marks a significant step forward for BuCor, aligning its HR processes with national standards and furthering its mission to improve governance and service delivery in the corrections service.
