The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Safekeepers defeated the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) Patriots with a score of 96-55 in the Sinag Liga Asya (SLA) – Department of Justice (DOJ) Inter-Agency Tournament Secretary’s Cup on February 11, 2025, at the Paco Arena, City of Manila. This victory marks their fifth consecutive win in the tournament.
CO1 Mark Carlos was named Best Player of the Game after contributing 12 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. The BuCor Safekeepers remain undefeated with a 5-0 record. In their previous games, the BuCor Safekeepers won against the PPA Redeemers with a score of 93-39, the PCGG Guardians with 77-41, the NBI Sharpshooters with 83-72, and the PAO Defenders with 64-52 before securing this latest win against the OSG Patriots.
The team’s victory was achieved through the support of Head Coach C/SUPT LUCIO C GUEVARRA, Assistant Coach C/SUPT MICHEAL M MARTIN, along with C/CINSP ANTHONY NUPABLE G OMEGA, C/SINSP ALBERTO ANDRADA, and other BuCor personnel.
The SLA-DOJ Secretary’s Cup was organized to promote sportsmanship and camaraderie among DOJ’s attached agencies. The BuCor Safekeepers continue to compete in the tournament, aiming to maintain their strong performance.
