On October 15, 2024, selected personnel from the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) displayed athleticism as they competed in the Taekwondo event of the 2024 Uniformed Services Sports League, held at the Philippine Air Force Gym in Pasay City.
Under the guidance of their coach, Coach Bonna Maricar Barroga from the National Headquarters, BuCor’s athletes showcased their skills, bringing home several medals across various categories.
Gold Medalist:
1. C01 Romelio C Marbibi from Leyte Regional Prison (LRP)dominated the Kyorugi Welterweight division, clinching the prestigious gold medal.
Silver Medalist:
2. C01 Francis M Dosdos, also from LRP, delivered an impressive performance in the Poomsae category, earning the silver medal.
Bronze Medalists:
3. C03 Cruzado B Alindayo from the National Headquarters secured a bronze in the Kyorugi Featherweight division.
4. C01 Ricardo B Fallarme Jr. from the New Bilibid Prison took home a bronze in the Kyorugi Middleweight category.
5. C01 Philigie G Perez from the New Bilibid Prison also claimed a bronze in the Middleweight division.
Quarterfinalist:
6. C01 Ronamie V Suazo from the New Bilibid Prison reached the quarterfinals, demonstrating a strong competitive spirit.
