CNTI welcomes new trainees for Corrections Officer Custodial Basic Course

The Human Resource Division (HRD) has officially turned over 1,055 Corrections Officers (CO1) and Corrections Technical Officers (CTO1) trainees to the Corrections National Training Institute (CNTI). The simultaneous ceremonies conducted bureau-wide took place today, August 12, 2024, coinciding with the Traditional Flag Raising Ceremony.
Ms. Ligaya A. Dador, Chief of HRD, presented the trainees, which include 322 CO1/T and 14 CTO1 trainees from New Bilibid Prison/National Headquarters, 198 CO1/T from Davao Prison and Penal Farm, 196 from Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm, 136 from Leyte Regional Prison, 96 San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm, and 93 from Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm.
The trainees were formally accepted and confirmed by C/CINSP LUCIO C GUEVARRA, Acting Director of CNTI, and will now form part of Class 2024-02 of the Corrections Officer Custodial Basic Course (COCBC).
The trainees will undergo an intensive six-month training program at the CNTI to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to fulfill their responsibilities effectively. Upon completion of the course, these officers will be deployed to various BuCor facilities across the country, contributing significantly to the security, safety, and rehabilitation of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
Under the direction of Director General GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret), CESE, CCLH, the Bureau of Corrections will continuously improve its human resources and enhance the quality of services provided by investing in the training and development of its officers.
