The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) headed by GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH, Director General, together with ASEC AL I PERRERAS, Deputy Director General for Administration (DDGA); ASEC GIL T TORRALBA, Deputy Director General for Security and Operations (DDGSO); C/CSUPT CELSO S BRAVO, OIC Deputy Director for Reformation (DDGR); CT/CSUPT MARIA FE R MARQUEZ, MNSA, Head Executive Assistant (HEA); C/SSUPT MELENCIO S FAUSTINO, Director, Bucor Land Control and Management Center (BLCMC); and distinguished BuCor Key Officials warmly welcomed CG ADMIRAL RONNIE GIL L GAVAN, Commandant, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and his Party at the National Headquarters (NHQ), New Bilibid Prison Reservation, Muntinlupa City on January 15, 2024.
Arrival Honors were accorded to CG ADMIRAL GAVAN by the Corrections National Training Institute (CNTI) led by C/CINSP LUCIO C GUEVARRA, Acting Director, CNTI. This was followed by an aerial survey at the NBP Security Compounds.
The conference’s agenda included identifying potential available land of BuCor to be allocated to the PCG and discussing the terms and conditions associated with it. PCG offered some of their services such as the utilization of PCG surface assets and buses to relocate Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), utilization of aircraft for use during inspections at the Prison and Penal facilities, and training of BuCor personnel (K9 training, security, medical and other specialized training).
Furthermore, while having distinct jurisdictions, this partnership strengthens and expands links between the two agencies through a spirit of cooperation and coordination to achieve the same goal.
