The Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) joined the festivities of the 57th Araw ng Davao del Norte at the province’s capital, Tagum City on July 1, 2024.
A total of thirty (30) uniformed personnel of DPPF led by CT/SINP OJIE O SOLITARI, Chief, Moral and Spiritual Section and C/INSP ARGIE H ADEL took part in the customary activity together with other government agencies and private entities in the solidarity walk to show its support and commitment to the province.The civic parade started at the Tagum City Historical and Cultural Center and made its way through the thoroughfares of the city leading to Davao del Norte Sports Complex.
This year’s theme, “57 Years of People-Centered and Unified Davao del Norte,” was headed by the Provincial Tourism Office highlights the province’s commitment to a principled, accountable, and dependable governance for the people of Davao del Norte. Further, the celebration emphasized the province’s solidarity, its stunning history and culture and several achievements.
A short program was held after the parade at the Davao del Norte Gymnasium with the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker, the Secretary of the Department of Tourism HON. MARIA ESPERANZA CHRISTINA GARCIA- FRANCO represented by DOT XI Regional Director, Ms. Tanya Virginia Rabat-Tan.
Other Activities were the display of booths of Local Government Units showcasing their products, the Kadagayaan Festival, dance competitions and cultural presentations and fireworks display.
DPPF Acting Superintendent C/SINSP EDGARDO F MENDOZA JR lauded Davao del Norte for reaching another milestone. “As the province celebrates its anniversary, may it continue to thrive and prosper,” he added.
