Alternative Learning System (ALS) Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony

 
Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) through the Education and Training Section headed by its Chief, CO1 Romelio C Marbibi in collaboration with Alternative Learning System (ALS), Leyte Division held another successful Graduation and Moving Up Ceremony of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) ALS Learners for School Year (SY) 2022-2023 with the theme “K-12 Graduates: Molded through a Resilient Educational Foundation” last August 01, 2023.
 
This momentous event was witnessed and attended by Dr. Alfredo P. Cafe, ALS Supervisor, Department of Education, Region VIII, who also served as the Guest Speaker of the event. Atty. Vevelyn O. Monsanto, Regional Director, Public Attorney’s Office, Region VIII, Mr. Glamaliel B. Vicente Jr., CESO III, ASEAN ENG, Regional Director, Technical Education & Skills Development (TESDA), Regional Office VIII, Ms. Maria Beverly D. Ampo, Regional Director, Parole and Pardon Administration, Region VIII, Atty. Lee Agerico B. Avila and Atty. Grace Anne B. De Veyra, District Public Attorney, Abuyog Distrcit Office, Mr. Gerry B. Ranes, ALS Education Supervisor, Abuyog District, Ms. Olga G. Tan and Ms. Lea A. Sombilon, Education Program Specialist II for ALS, Ms. Emelyn G. Elmido, Principal, Balocawehay Central School, C/SUPT ALFREDO A DEVARAS JR, LRP Superintendent, C/CINSP JOSE MARI D ALAMBRO, Deputy Superintendent, LRP and Deputy Superintendent for Security and Operations, CTO3 Flordeliza C Ablanque, Deputy Superintendent for Reformation, CO2 Noli Ann Billo, Chief, Reformation Division, and the family and relatives of the PDL Students.
 
A total of one hundred (100) PDL students particularly, twenty-eight (28) completers of the Basic Literacy Program, thirty (30) Elementary Graduates, and forty-two (42) Junior High School Completers from Maximum and Medium Security Camps were confirmed and declared graduates and completers by Ms. Marie Joy Arias, ALS Education Program Specialist Supervisor. The PDL Students received certificates from the DepEd, Leyte Division under the ALS Basic Literacy Program, Elementary and Junior High School. Further, they will be enrolled in the DepEd ALS Program for SY 2023-2024.
The LRP through the leadership of C/SUPT ALFREDO A DEVARAS JR, LRP Superintendent, under the supervision of GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR, AFP (Ret.), CESE, Director General, BuCor, commits to the mandates of the Bureau, thus encouraging all PDL to enroll, study and be released as reformed individuals.
