On May 26, 2023, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) through the Public Information Office (PIO) headed by its Chief, C/SINSP MARLON E MANGUBAT launched its first-ever Inauguration and Oath Taking Ceremony of BuCor Press Corps Officers held at the Quest Plus Conference Center in Clark, Pampanga.
The event was graced by the BuCor, Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR, AFP (Ret.), CESE together with J/SINSP ANGELINA L BAUTISTA (Ret.), OIC-Deputy Director General for Operations (DDGO) and ODG-Head Executive Assistant.
C/SINSP MANGUBAT gave his heartfelt opening remarks regarding the unwavering support of our media personnel in providing timely, accurate, and relevant information to the public regarding significant events of the Bureau.
Subsequently, the officers of the BuCor Press Corp took their oaths and received plaques of appreciation (television, radio, print/online category) administered by DG CATAPANG, JR, J/SINSP BAUTISTA, (Ret.) and C/SINSP MANGUBAT.
Also, the incumbent president of BuCor Press Corps, Mr. Gary De Leon of TV5 imparted words of encouragement to his fellow officers to provide truthful, objective, and unbiased news to the public.
DG CATAPANG, in his speech, expressed his utmost appreciation to the BuCor Press Corps Officers and PIO personnel for making this significant event possible. In addition, he also wishes to strengthen ties with the media entities for the betterment of this institution.
