Ice Seguerra, along with a group of compassionate contributors, visited the Maximum Security Camp of the Correctional Institution for Women on December 20, 2023. They held a captivating mini concert and an early Christmas party for the incarcerated individuals. The event, named KATUWAAN, sought to convey happiness to the Persons Derived of Liberty (PDL) within the institution.
The said event not only provided entertainment but also functioned as a forum to demonstrate support for the LGBTQ+ community, highlighting the importance of inclusiveness and solidarity throughout the festive season. The performance deeply resonated with the varied audience, establishing a feeling of empathy.
The altruistic endeavors did not conclude with the musical spectacle. The donors showed their dedication by contributing essential products to the PDL. A total of 100 gift packs, 50 food packages, 140 bars of soap, 75 packs of sanitary pads, 450 multivitamins, and cash raffles were allocated and given out to individuals belonging to the LGBTQ+ community, elderly PDL, and recreation groups.
This event was made possible through the support of the CIW Acting Superintendent, C/SSUPT DAISY SEVILLA-CASTILLOTE, and the generosity of OUTRIGHT International, Fire and Ice PH, Commission on Human Rights, EnGenderRight Inc, and KAISA Inc.
