The Reshape Justice Group, thru the Directorate for Reformation (DR) and Learning and Development Division (LDD), conducted the High Risk PDL Management and Reintegration Seminar-Workshop on September 11 to 13, 2023 at the BuCor Conference Room, National Headquarters, NBP Reservation, Muntinlupa City.
This seminar was funded by the Australian Government and spearheaded by DR. CLARKE R. JONES, Director of Reshape Justice Group, and DR. RESURRECION S. MORALES, Consultant, University of Perpetual Help System – Dalta (UPHSD). This was also made possible through the initiatives of CT/SUPT ELSA A ALABADO, Acting Director, Directorate for Administration, and MR. THEODORE R PEREZ, Acting Chief, LDD.
There were seventy (70) participants from the different offices and camps of New Bilibid Prison (NBP) and National Headquarters (NHQ) and different Operating Prisons and Penal Farm (OPPF) of BuCor. There were also four (4) guest participants from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), National Headquarters, Quezon City, headed by J/SSUPT ANDREW W TAULI.
This activity intends to provide an overview of the new line of operations and to assist BuCor and BJMP in developing and carrying out of high-risk PDL rehabilitation and reintegration programs. It also aspires to implement a detailed engagement strategy with their families and barangays through trust and relationship building, with the purpose of strengthening, development and responsiveness programs.
J/SUPT CHRISTOPHER R PENILLA of BMJP also presented the reintegration initiatives of their agency using digital technology through the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Tech4ED in BJMP – General Mariano Alvarez.
ASEC GIL T TORRALBA, Deputy Director General for Operations, and C/CSUPT CELSO S BRAVO, Deputy Director General for Reformation, graced the closing ceremony of this meaningful seminar-workshop thru their inspiring and motivating message for the participants.
Indeed, the strategic leadership of GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., Director General, BuCor, who always initiates ways and exerts efforts to ensure progress and strengthen the corrections service of this bureau, will make our organization at par with the United Nations standards. The restructuring, upgrading, and professionalization of the BuCor personnel is part of his administration that aims to contribute to the fulfillment of this Bureau’s strategic priorities.
