International Business Committee Ota Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division visits NBP-MedSeCamp

On 28 January 2025, the New Bilibid Prison – Medium Security Camp (NBP-MedSeCamp) was visited by the International Business Committee Ota Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division of Japan, led by Mr. Keishu Kurashima and Ms. Chiine Go To, along with their members.

The visitors were warmly welcomed by C/SUPT RUBEN R FORMOSO, Camp Commander; C/CINSP ANTHONY NUPABLE G OMEGA, Deputy Camp Commander for Reformation; C/CINSP JEROME B JUPIO, Deputy Camp Commander for Security and Operation; CTSO3 Sonny S Pesa, Chief of the Education and Training Section, and other personnel from the Reformation and Security.

The visitors donated 500 kilos of rice, which benefited the incarcerated elderly, sick, and Persons with Disability (PWD).

CTSO3 Sonny S Pesa provided a brief overview of the reformation programs offered by the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). He highlighted five (5) key reformation programs: Education and Training, Moral and Spiritual Development, Behavior Modification, Sports and Recreation, and Work and Livelihood Programs and emphasized the importance of these initiatives in aiding the reformation of PDLs.

Furthermore, the College Guild of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD), consisting of Senior High School and College student PDLs, showcased an exceptional performance featuring Voltes V’s singing and dancing.

Mr. Kurashima and Ms. Go To expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality. In recognition of their visit, C/SUPT FORMOSO presented them with a painting created by one of the PDLs under the Work and Livelihood Program.

The activity concluded successfully through the collaborative efforts of the Office of the Deputy Camp Commander for Reformation and the Office of Security and Operations, under the supervision of the Camp Commander of the NBP-MedSeCamp.
