On September 13, 2024, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) through the initiative of the bureau’s Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR, AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH successfully organized and carried out a heartwarming feeding program for 105 Elementary pupil beneficiaries conducted at the Itaas Elementary School (IES), New Bilibid Prison (NBP) Reservation, Muntinlupa City.
The program kicked off with a solemn prayer led by Rev. Fr. Jess Los Bañes, Service Chaplain, Moral and Spiritual Division (MSD). DR. ENRICO MADARCOS, Master Teacher II delivered his warm welcome remarks followed by a short message of CT/SUPT DOROTHY C BERNABE, Acting Director, Directorate for Reformation, who represented DG CATAPANG JR. C/SUPT BERNABE emphasized the value of eating healthy and consuming nutritious foods to the pupils. Meanwhile, Ms. RHODORA V MANDAP, IES Principal, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the bureau’s support in making this project possible. Moreover, the feeding program is scheduled to take place every Friday.
The IES pupils performed a dance number that entertained the guests and parent volunteers present at the event. Ms. Rowena Ocfemia, BuCor Media Consultant, joined the activity and assisted C/SUPT BERNABE and Ms. MANDAP in distributing food and vitamins to the pupils after the performance. Personnel from the Office of the Director General (ODG) and the Directorate for Reformation also provided assistance in the said distribution. This initiative was successfully accomplished with the collective contributions and teamwork of the bureau’s personnel.
