Sablayan, Philippines – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sablayan introduced a localized pension payout program for senior citizens in the community and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) inside the prison facilities of Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF). It was facilitated by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), this initiative aims to provide regular financial support to elderly individuals. The program was formulated under the leadership of the HONORABLE MAYOR WALTER BONG MARQUEZ, who delivered an inspiring message to the beneficiaries during the launch of payout.
A team led by the OIC of MSWDO, Ms. Elaine Faith Gonzales, and the Head of the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), Lolita Melendrez together with C/SUPT ROBERT A VENERACION, C/CI ANGELITO DC LAPITAN and DSR Personnel worked diligently to ensure the effective implementation of the senior citizens’ localized pension payout program. Their efforts were geared towards providing monthly cash assistance to the elderly residents of Sablayan.
HONORABLE MARQUEZ was present during the launch and delivered a heartfelt message to the senior citizens, acknowledging their valuable contributions to society. He expressed gratitude and admiration for the elderly population, emphasizing their wisdom, experience, and the positive impact they have made on the community.
Through the localized pension payout program, senior citizen in Sablayan receives monthly cash payout from the LGU. This financial assistance is intended to alleviate the financial burdens faced by the elderly and help improve their quality of life. By providing regular support, the program aims to ensure that senior citizens can meet their basic needs and enjoy a dignified retirement.
