On 05 April 2025, the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), under the leadership of Acting Superintendent CSUPT ROGER O BONCALES, held a Muster Inspection at the Corrections National Training Institute (CNTI) parade grounds. The inspection was attended by 1,209 personnel from the NBP.
The Muster Inspection is a routine procedure designed to ensure that all officers uphold the highest standards of discipline, particularly in uniform wear, decorum, and grooming. Beyond physical presentation, the inspection also included personnel accountability, firearms checks, and inventory assessments.
During the event, personnel who demonstrated exceptional performance were honored with Certificates of Commendation. These included officers from Security Patrol Unit 1 (SPU1) and Security Patrol Unit 2 (SPU2) from the Maximum Security Camp, the NBP Recovery Team, and two (2) Inmate Visitation Services Unit (IVSU) personnel. They were recognized for their professionalism, commitment, and consistent efforts in fulfilling the Bureau of Corrections’ two core mandates: safekeeping and rehabilitating national inmates.
CSUPT BONCALES addressed the personnel, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement and the important role each individual plays in maintaining order and safety within the prison. He reaffirmed NBP’s commitment to building a positive work environment, where dedication and hard work are both recognized and rewarded.
