The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) hosted the Oath-taking Ceremony for Newly Appointed Non-Commissioned Officers, Corrections Officer 1 and Corrections Technical Officer 1 (CO1 and CTO1) today, January 08, 2024. The event took place at the New Conference Room, National Headquarters, New Bilibid Prison (NBP) Reservation, Muntinlupa City.
A total of forty-four (44) recruits, composed of thirty-three (33) CO1 and eleven (11) CTO1 have successfully passed the rigorous selection and screening process facilitated by the BuCor Human Resource Merit, Selection, and Promotion Board (HRMPSB) and have shown to possess the qualities of integrity, innovativeness, vigilance, and above all God-fearing. They will undergo Corrections Officer Custodial Basic Course (COCBC) training at the BuCor National Headquarters to instill the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to reform the lives of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).
The oath of office was administered by GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH, Director General. The ceremony was graced by the presence of ASEC GIL T TORRALBA, Deputy Director General for Operations, CT/CSUPT MARIA FE R MARQUEZ, MNSA, Head Executive Assistant (HEA), COL BERNARDO OÑA, AFP (Ret.), Consultant, COL GEORGE A RABUSA, AFP (Ret.), Consultant, and other BuCor Key Officials.
DG CATAPANG said that 2024 is the start of the full-blast support for the Bureau. He encourages the newly hired to join in achieving the shared goals and visions towards a relevant, sustainable and respected BuCor in the 21st Century.
