The Presidential Adviser on Muslim Affairs, HON. ALMARIM C. TILLAH, AL HAJ, visited the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) to formally propose an initiative aimed at preserving Muslim cultures within correctional facilities, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and respecting the religious and cultural identities of Muslim Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
This proposal could foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for Muslim PDLs in custody, ensuring that their religious practices and cultural traditions are upheld and respected.
HON. TILLAH also visited the mosque inside the New Bilibid Prison – Maximum Security Compound (MaxSeCom), engaging in prayer alongside 300 Muslim PDLs. He expressed his gratitude to BuCor Director General GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, CCLH recognizing the support extended to the Muslim PDLs.
