The Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC) led by CT/SUPT DOROTHY C BERNABE successfully celebrated its 70th Founding Anniversary with the theme “70 years of Excellence and Resilience Committed to remain Steadfast and Just” last June 5-7, 2023 held at the New Bilibid Prison Reservation, Poblacion, Muntinlupa City.
The program highlighted the holy mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Eli Rowdy Y. Lumbo, SJ from the Philippine General Hospital Chaplaincy and CT/SINSP DOMINIC R LIBREA, Chief, Moral and Spiritual Division, followed by a ceremonial blessing of the newly-renovated grotto at the RDC led by C/SSUPT CELSO BRAVO and CT/SUPT CYNTHIA ANDRADA, Ph.D., RGC, RPsy.
Also, in attendance were J/SINSP ANGELINA L BAUTISTA, (Ret.) Head Executive Assistant, Office of the Director General and OIC-Deputy Director General for Operations (ODDGO), former RDC personnel including retirees attended and showed support to the event.
CT/SUPT BERNABE gave her earnest opening remarks to start the event with a blast. Much to their surprise, the former RDC personnel and retirees received a certification signifying their exemplary performances over the years.
On June 6, 2023, the PDL confined in the RDC also enjoined the celebration by participating in the native games competition and gathered in a social program held at the Our Lady of Grace Chapel. Likewise, one hundred (100) elderly and differently-abled PDL received a chicken porridge “Arrozcaldo” sponsored by the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service (PJPS).
Further, the celebration also featured an entertainment activity led by CT/INSP LARIZA V MARTIN, Deputy Chief for Administration on the last day of the celebration, June 7, 2023, held at the RDC, Open Court, awarding proper of the native game competition and distribution of certificate of commendation to all PDL participants and orderlies assigned at the New Bilibid Prison.
From its humble beginnings, RDC continues to play a vital role in assessing individual rehabilitation programs to all PDL.
