TODAY | The Corrections National Training Institute (CNTI) spearheaded the simultaneous Reception Rites for the 980 Corrections Officer 1/Trainees (CO1/T), Corrections Officer Custodial Basic Course (COCBC) Class 01 – 2023. The reception rites took place at various Operating Prisons and Penal Farms (OPPFs) of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
Among the 980 CO1/T, 513 CO1/T were received at the National Headquarters by the Tactical Officers at the CNTI Parade Ground, New Bilibid Prison, 189 for Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF), 77 CO1/T for Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF), 57 CO1/T for Leyte Regional Prison (LRP), 82 CO1/T for Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF), and 62 CO1/T for San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF).
C/CINSP LUCIO C GUEVARRA, CNTI Acting Director, declared the opening of the Reception Rites. C/INSP ALLAN A ROSALES, COCBC Commandant, presented the reception rites and trainees. The event was attended by C/CSUPT CELSO S BRAVO, OIC-Deputy Director General for Reformation, MR. THEODORE R PEREZ, Chief, Learning and Development Division (LDD), and other Non-Commissioned Officers, personnel, and guests.
The rites consisted of ten (10) stations with five (5) minutes allotted for each station. The reception rites signify the formal start of their rigorous military life anchored on the bureau’s core values of God-centered, vigilance, innovativeness, and integrity.
C/CSUPT BRAVO congratulated the trainees and reminded them to keep in mind that they have the support of their loved ones throughout their training.
