In spite of having limited resource of toys, Filipinos have fond memories of their childhood. Thanks to the Filipino ancestors who created the various games. The fact that the concept of Laro ng Lahi, is still relevant to today’s youth even though the contemporary forms of entertainment such as computer and foreign games have mostly replaced our cultures.
Present in the events are Commissioned Officers in the presence and leadership of SPPF Superintendent. In his speech during the awarding he emphasize the most important life lessons from a Child-heart grown man; “Feel your feelings. Children leave their emotions on their sleeves. Be curious and excited, be fearless like a child and grow a little everyday.”
In the closing and awarding ceremony, Team 4 bagged the first place while Team 2 hailed as second, Team 1, Team 5 and Team 3, respectively.
The Laro ng Lahi event in the Superintendent’s Cup 2023 showcased some of many traditional Filipino games that could be played for recreational purposes but could also be used as physical activities to achieve one’s health and fitness goals forming and developing much deeper and greater brotherhood and camaraderie among Corrections Officers.
