PPC Government inaugurates New Concrete Perimeter Roads leading to Iwahig Heritage Center

Iwahig, Puerto Princesa – An inauguration ceremony for the completion of the new-concrete perimeter road leading to Iwahig Heritage Center was conducted by the Puerto Princesa City (PPC) Government on March 31, 2023, at Central Sub-Colony (CSC), Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF).
 
The goal of this project is to provide better access roads that will lead to the historical landmarks within the reservation as IPPF was declared by the PPC Government as City’s Historical and Natural Treasure. Aside from tourists who visit IPPF, another primary beneficiary of the concretion of roads are the residents who live within the area.
Present during the ceremony was HON. LUCILO R. BAYRON, PPC Mayor, the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, the Barangay Iwahig Council headed by HON. YOLANDA EVANGELISTA, C/TINSP TEDDY S MARTIN, Deputy Superintendent for Reformation, and C/INSP JOCELYN RODRIGUEZ, Deputy Superintendent for Administration to represent C/CINSP GARY A GARCIA, Superintendent of IPPF, and other personnel of IPPF.
 
After the short program, a ceremonial tree planting of Balayong Trees was also conducted along the quadrangle of IPPF. These planted trees will serve as an added tourist attraction within IPPF.
 
The Director General, USEC GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE, through the Superintendent of IPPF, C/CINSP GARY A GARCIA, is grateful for the City Government of Puerto Princesa for the significant project. As the bureau gives importance to concreting and maintenance of every facility to provide reliable and competent security support capability.
