5th Culminating Program F.Y. 2023 to 423 released PDL

The Bureau of Corrections’ Directorate for External Relations headed by CT/SUPT NOEL M MARQUEZ, DVM and External Affairs Section of all Operating Prison and Penal Farms (OPPF) organized its 5th Culminating Program F.Y. 2023 to four hundred twenty-three (423) released Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) on June 27, 2023, held at the National Headquarters, New Bilibid Prison, Muntinlupa City.
 
The event was graced by USEC DEO MARCO of the Department of Justice as the Guest of Honor on behalf of SECRETARY JESUS CRISPIN C. REMULLA. Others in attendance also were USEC SERGIO R. CALIZO JR., Chairman of the Board of Pardons and Parole (BPP), ATTY. PERSIDA V. RUEDA-ACOSTA, DSD, Chief of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), ATTY. BIENVENIDO BINETEZ, Administrator OIC, BPP, J/SINSP ANGELINA L BAUTISTA (Ret.), HEA, Office of the Director General, OIC, Deputy Director General for Operations and concurrent Superintendent, NBP and BuCor Director General, GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG JR., AFP (Ret.), CESE.
 
The total number of released PDL Bureauwide consisted of one hundred eighty-eight (195) at New Bilibid Prison (NBP), fifty-five (55) at Leyte Regional Prison (LRP), twenty-nine (29) at San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF), eleven (11) at Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF), twenty-three (23) at Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF), thirty-three (33) at Correctional Institution for Women (CIW), and seventy-seven (77) at Davao Prison and Penal Farm. Likewise, majority of these released PDL are being released due to expiration of maximum sentence with Good Conduct Time and Allowance (GCTA) and parole.
 
The persistent support of these agencies including the PDL Document and Processing Division (PDPD), the Management Screening Evaluation Committee (MSEC), and the Separation Center Office of all OPPFs have provided tremendous impact to the lives of these released clients who are now ready to venture on greater heights.
 
With the theme “Paglaya sa Malungkot na Nakaraan Pagsuong sa Hamon ng Panibagong Bukas,” another milestone is unlocked in BuCor through the steadfast leadership of DG CATAPANG.
